The American energy renaissance is underway across the United States, with natural gas development at the helm impacting Americans in districts and states from coast to coast. As production of natural gas has grown, the United States now faces a unique opportunity: to become an exporter of liquefied natural gas (LNG). Last week’s approval of the third LNG export application by the Department of Energy shows this energy paradigm shift, yet there are still steps to be taken.
Natural gas will have profound impacts across the American economy and will bolster American energy security. Therefore we must urge the DOE to immediately approve the remaining 19 applications instead of the piece meal approach they are currently taking.
